my photos suck. i don't think it's the camera. i think i suck. it seems this camera is more sensitive than my old, dead panasonic was. this one is the nikon cool pix s9. i heard it was good when i got it. i need a photographer that can light/shoot sculpture. i wonder how much that would cost???/

i like this project. i would rather make more of these than the ray guns.

fuckin' jury duty on my birthday.....

nra be damned, i'm going to make a few of these ray guns. this one is the first. i already have plans for a few more. this one is a C+. the next will be better and so on until i get it right.

the 5 piece round nesting doll set is here! now i get to put them in a box and forget about them. this was another long project.

fantastic! i finished the lino-cut tutorial for a day of the dead craft book to be published cantata books. i also hope to feature some other pieces in the book. we'll see.... being that my take on day of the dead is more contemporary than traditional. my wife michelle (alteredboxes) will feature 5 pieces in the book. bonus!!

...fuckin' ruled this year. too much to go into detail. it tasted like Val's breakfast and candy corn. it felt like a skate slam. it looked like an art show and spur-of-the-moment-tattoos. it smelled like fall. it sounded like shit robot, black moth super rainbow, and aphex twins. i spent most of the day with my son miles. it was most fun.

finished the project for the monsters of art show at cylops studios. it's on halloween night in san francisco. art, tattoos, and a killer party. it's one of the best in town. i will see you all there.....

     i will have been married to my wife michelle (alteredboxes[link] on deviantart) for 10 years on sept 26. this is also the 10th year since i started skateboarding. my two true loves......hence the new skate deck. thanks michelle, for putting up with my obsessive skateboarding and countless flaws for 10 long years.

i love round. i enjoy burning wood. nesting dolls are neat. cuss words are "artsy".....i think.

i sent my money to mother russia, and she returned the favor in the form of very rare unfinished wood "nesting spheres". i couldn't be more excited. i got three sets.

but, i want more. help me please. if you know where i could find more round ones let me know. i would love for more than three to fit together, but i'll check out anything.......

...who may be considering woodburning, be careful! the smoke is hell on your sinuses. i've been doing a lot of burning the last few days and despite the precautions that i take, i feel like shit after a few hours. i make sure that i'm in a well vented area and even use a fan. sometimes i use a mask and i always wear safety glasses (smoke in your eyes sucks). it's good to know the toxicity of the woods you burn too. birtch = good, pine = bad, etc.

anyways, i think i go back to painting for a while.....

i spent the last two days playing with dolls (see pics to the left). i did so with no shame. i might even do it again,....i hope i don't get caught.

also, i missed comic-con this year. i feel bad enough without you rubbing it in. fuck it.

...is lagging on my woodburn tool order. i ordered a nice woodburn tool kit to try to up my wood burn game. how long will this torture last??? it's like a kid waiting for a prize he sent box tops in for. i still use my cheap craft burner almost every day, but i'm getting a little frustrated with it's limitations.

i hope the new one comes tomorrow......

i recently returned from the 'star wars celebration iv' in L.A.. the biggest star wars convention on mother earth. we took our son there for his 9th birthday. star wars overload......it's going to be hard to not to do a shit-ton of star wars related art. but, i will do at least one of the balls in a star wars character,...i already know which one too.......
